The Race Around Ireland is now over but you can still donate to Help for Heroes until the 30th September should you wish to support Phil. A full race report on the event can be seen on the Team Exiles Blog. Thanks for your support!
Founded in 2010, Team Exiles is the brainchild of Philip Field and Natt Moore, both dedicated endurance road cyclists who live in the Swiss mountain resort of Verbier. Continually looking to push themselves with new challenges that test their physical and mental limits the pair formed Team Exiles to promote their enthusiasm for riding and raising money for charity.
Last season the pair cycled from Verbier to John O'Groats via Dunkirque and Land's End in a 2,500 Km ride for LIVESTRONG. Taking 17 days and raising over £2,000 the ride signalled the duo's first multi-national tour and was the catalyst for Phil's 2011 challenge.
This September Phil will be competing in The Race Around Ireland - Europe's toughest cycle challenge. The event which is part of the Ultra Marathon Cycling Association (UMCA) World Cup series will test Phil to his absolute limit - 2,100 Km's around Ireland in 132 hours or less. With the aid of Natt and crew following in a support vehicle, Phil will ride continually for 5.5 days through day and night to ensure the tight time contraint is met. In doing so he will be raising money for Help for Heroes as well as looking to gain qualification into The Race Across America (RAAM) - the World's toughest endurance cycle race.
Please show your support by sponsoring Phil and keep up to date with his training and the team via the Team Exiles Blog as well as their Facebook and Twitter pages. If you're keen to join the Team Exiles pair for a ride please get in touch - you're always welcome!
